Seattle Day 1 – Tasty Tasty Dinner!

seascallops Well Dave and I have arrived in Seattle for our week of eating, drinking and general merriment, and after getting checked into our hotel room decided we were starving so ventured out into the world of Seattle to find some dinner.  We wandered around in the drizzle for a little bit and eventually stumbled across Pike Place Market and noticed a little restaurant tucked away in the back behind the fish monger that yells a bunch and throw fish around the only problem was they didn’t serve dinner till 5:30, and it was only 4:30 and we were hungry.  We decided to wander around downtown a little more and see if we could find somewhere else to go, but after about 30 minutes we really didn’t see anything that jumped out at us so we decided to head back and give Place Pigalle (clickable) a try!

We were not disappointed in our decision one little bit either, the meal was 6 different kinds of glorious.  I had the Escargot de Bourgogne with tarragon butter, garlic, shallots, pernod, and fresh hot baguette.  For my main I ordered the Sea Scallops with Rose? Champagne Beurre Blanc with brussel sprout and pancetta hash.  The scallops were large and plentiful as well they were cooked to perfect, the dish also came with crispy mini yukon gold potatoes.  Dave ordered the Calamari Dijonnaise consisting of California squid, garlic, ginger, spinach, cremini mushrooms, and  a Dijon cream sauce.  Dave’s main was one of the specials which was the halibut with mini crispy yukon gold potatoes and  brussel sprouts.  To drink I had a a couple local pints of various IPA and Pale Ales, both of which were very tasty (and cheap!).

What tastes will abound for us tomorrow?  We have yet to decide we are more or less just playing it by ear, but do plan on doing some site seeing tomorrow and hitting the town with our cameras.  The photos should start pouring in shortly.  Meanwhile, all I have to attach currently is an image of my dinner I took with my phone.  Stay tuned, there will be more to follow.
